Malaise?

If a cell is a unit of memory
Surrounded by matter...
I must be a memory map
Unforgiving
Insensate and eternal!

If a cell, then, dies
Does that part of me
Get lost forever?

Are you and your
Thoughts
In me

A

Cancer?

An
Unpredictable
Mutation?

Dear Me!

For, do I lose..

In that Carcinoma
When you overwhelm?

Or find myself
Fairly inundated
Terminally
As you seep into
Every nook and
Cranny of my
Consciousness?

Tell me
Dear One,

How will I ever
Cure myself

Of you?

  3. Usha,
Thanks to your great words, I have started to have a feeble inkling towards poetry.
Talking of cancer, I have read this somewhere - 'carcer cures smoking!'
    Cheers,
    Salil

And this poem is tenderly beautiful.. Only you can make even cancer seem romantic!

Why would one want to forget "him" anyways!

  7. hey,
its amazing! The feeling is expressed so beautifully but thoughtfully that it touches the core instantly. The personification of cancer and to relate it with the human heart is simply soul warming.

    How indeed?
:)beautiful as ever...mesmerising and with a depth most profound....the fortunate few have this, I assume..:)
and are both blessed and cursed...for it is like having an addiction for life.....

    Gibran's words come to mind...
with the addiction a lot of space is required too perhaps...and as he says,''let the windes of the heavens dance between you''

  11. The poetic profundity of it all. Take a bow, ma'am! :)

Loved the parallelism you drew in the end. The inner self, which - unknowing to us - can be so open to change (unpredictable mutation, as u beautifully put it!).

The cure - Purity of thought, clarity in outlook, brevity in speech. A health, free from influence. :)

    Message beautifully conveyed.

    Peace. Have a nice weekend.

  12. If I had 10% of your vision and diction.. I would print a T-Shirt claiming that

    "Things are better said."

The fight goes away with the quarrel of emotions :)

    Cure Myself

    Of You?

  15. Amazing! Poetry can say things prose never can, and still make it sound so ..err poetic,

    'If a cell, then, dies
    Does that part of me
    Get lost forever?'

  16. I read this come where, if its "in-curable" that means its Curable from within.

    :)
