The Carousel of Life

Hop on!
I'll take you
On a ride-

Gaily, you called out,
that fine summer day.

I shied away-
Rides were not my thing!
Not that carousel,
Of dancing horses,
Never still...
Dizzying moments-
Though excitement
and joyful cries rent the air!

Hop On!
You urged,
Reassurance warm;
flecked in your eyes!

What do I say now!

Hopping on that ride
With you-
Was the best thing
I've ever done!

No matter that the carousel
Whirled us round..
On a never ending
hurdy-gurdy of emotions!

For, as someone once said,

Love doesn't make the world go round;
Love is what makes the ride worthwhile!

  3. Awww..

How did I miss reading you?

The perfect read I can expect in the days of nostalgia :)

The ride covered in memories and reassurance judged in love light? Wonder if you could dispense away with mirror! For you walk through sights- a rhyme to reason and a song to sing!

  5. I feel like commenting all over again :)

This read is making go round in circles :) So much for the nuances, your thing is inspiring me to a LOVE-dream :P

Some of the things that I am tempted to do :)

    1) Copy, paste this poem (Thieving- Wouldnt stop to ask you for permission :D)

    2) Try maneuvering words/thoughts and believe that I cant destroy masterpieces :|

    3) Read it all over again!

  18. Usha,
Thanks for taking us on a carousel ride.
When I rode a carousel as a kid, I used to wave at my parents every time around and they would always wave back. Was wondering why and now I got the answer - yes, it was love!
    Cheers,
    Salil

  20. Meena, Salil and IHM, please do excuse this delay in responding to your kind words :)

I guess I had been overwhelmed then when I was in the midst of a posting spree, and quite forgot to check!

The google doodle today, on 14th Feb, prompted me to look up this one here, and that is when I discovered I had been lax in attending to my duties. Apologies.

And many many thanks for having left your words to grace the write :)
